Miles Mossop Wines burst onto the scene in 2004 when the first wines were made: Max 2004 and Sakia 2004. Max is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and more recently Malbec, and Saskia, a blend of Chenin blanc, Viognier and more recently Clairette blanche. Later, in 2009, a third wine was introduced, the Kika 2009, a botrytised wine made in the Noble Late Harvest style from 100% Chenin blanc.

It is a family business with Miles Mossop (winemaker at Tokara winery) as winemaker and viticulturist. The wines are named after Miles and Samantha Mossop's three children, Saskia-Jo, Maximilian and Kika. Production is limited to 1,000 nine liter cases which results in approximately 475 cases of Max, 475 cases of Sakia and 50 cases of Kika.

They aim to achieve wines with finesse and elegance but still showing aspects of power and fruit concentration, having great texture while maintaining balance. These are truly handcrafted wines showing pure fruit expression and, more importantly, a sense of place.

Miles Mossop The Introduction 2017

This wine has a brilliant golden hue. The aromas burst from the glass abundant in stone fruit notes such as white peach and apricots underpinned by distinct yellow fruit notes of pineapple and papaya. There is a stunning floral tone of honeysuckle and lemon blossom on the nose. The palate mirrors the fruit aromas in flavour. There is a broad mid-palate leading to a fresh finish with a slight peppery grip.

Miles Mossop The Introduction 2015

The wine displays a deep dark garnet colour with a plum red rim. The nose is abundant in aromas of cassis, blackberries and mulberries underpinned with notes of cedar and black olives. There is a faint hint of eucalypt and mint. The palate is full and rich with layers of dark berries, plums and ripe fresh prunes. The tannins are firm on the finish but give way to a beautiful elegant freshness.

Miles Mossop Saskia 2014

The wine displays a deep straw colour. The aromas of the wine are prominent, with intense notes of ripe yellow fruit, pineapple, yellow peach and honey. The palate is full and rich with honey glazed almonds, peaches and roasted pineapple. The mid-palate is full and textured, leading to a finish that lingers with a slight grip, keeping the wine poised for an extended period of time.

Only 5700 bottles were produced.

Miles Mossop Max 2014

The wine has a deep, garnet appearance with an intense plum red rim. The nose is permeated by heady, dark fruit and Christmas cake notes, and accented by rich aromas of blackberries, mulberries and cassis. There are hints of dried herbs and savoury aromas. The palate is saturated with a mélange of ripe berry coulis. Full and rich with dry coating tannins on the mid-palate, leading to an immensely long finish.

Miles Mossop Kika 2015

The wine has a rich, deep golden hue. The nose is accented by intense aromas of apricot, quince, grilled pineapple and ginger spice. The wine enters the palate fully and richly, with intense flavours of poached pears, quince, honey glazed almonds and ginger bread. There is a tannic grip to the mid-palate, leading to a clean, crisp finish. The wine embodies the perfect balance between acidity and sweetness.

Only 1500 bottles were produced.
