Cape Rock Wines is situated between the towns of Vredendal and Klawer, 300km north from Cape Town and 30 km inland from Doringbaai on the West Coast of South Africa. We grow a variety of red and white grapes, such as Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier and Colombard. The vineyards are located on a single 11-hectare farm just above the banks of the Olifants river floodplain.

Cape Rock White 2017


A very lean but still full flavoured wine, displaying strong fruit flavours like melon, a touch of banana, white peach, pear, pineapple, lychee and apricot on the nose. The mouth feel is elegant and soft with good staying power. The wine is meant to be enjoyed in its youth in order to enjoy the fresh fruit flavours. We believe that the wine can be enjoyed on its own or with white meat, roast pork, cream based dishes or a variety of light seafood dishes.hearty meat stews or barbecues.

Cultivar: 46% Viognier, 26% Grenache Blanc, 21% Roussanne, 7% Marsanne

Cape Rock Red 2014


The wine is medium bodied with ripe red raspberry through to plums, violets, slight aniseed, pepper and other spice aromas on the nose that carries through to the palate. The tannins are soft and well integrated. The wine can be enjoyed from the late 2015, but should only improve with age for up to 8 years after release. The wine is ideal to be enjoyed on its own in winter or slightly chilled in summer evenings and will go well with firm cheeses, charcuterie, lamb or game dishes.

Cultivar: 84% Syrah, 10% Mourvédre, 6% Viognier

Cape Rock Syrah 2019


The wine is dark in colour and medium bodied with a nose dominated by red summer berries, plums, perfume and a hint of pepper. The tannins are fine but grippy. The wine was made to be enjoyed at release, but should improve with age for up to 3years after. It is ideal to be enjoyed slightly chilled on its own or with red meat, charcuterie or firm cheeses.

Cultivar: 100% Syrah

Cape Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2017


The wine is medium bodied with hints of graphite, cedar and cassis flavours on the nose. The tannins are soft and fine. The wine can be enjoyed from late 2018, but should last and improve for a further 5-8 years after release.

Cape Rock Asylum 2017


The wine is quite full flavoured and fruity on the nose with a very soft texture on the palate. The wine was made to be enjoyed at release, but should improve for at least up to 2 years after release. Asylum is ideal to be enjoyed chilled on its own and will complement vegetable dishes, salads, seafood pork and slightly spice or aromatic foods.

Cultivar: 51% Chenin Blanc, 49% Grenache Blanc

Cape Rock Amnesty 2017


The wine is light in colour and light bodied with a sweet nose of red summer berries, red fruits and spicy, herbaceous notes. The wine was made to be enjoyed at release, but should improve with age for up to 5 years after release. Amnesty is ideal to be enjoyed on its own in winter or slightly chilled during summer evenings and will go well if paired with charcuterie or breads and hard cheeses.

Cultivar: 34% Syrah, 33% Grenache, 33% Mourvèdre
